DO NOT TAKE THAT SOMETHING – 2 KINGS 5:20 - 27

DO NOT TAKE THAT SOMETHING – 2 KINGS 5:20 - 27
But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, "Look, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he brought; but as the LORD lives, I will run after him and take something from him." (v.20 NKJV)
Dear LORD GOD, let our eyes see what good thing you have in stock for us this time and always; strengthen us by your Spirit to resist the devil and his temptations and live victoriously in Christ.
I trust the LORD that you are very much in touch with the story of Naaman, the gentile warrior who was getting victory because the LORD gave him (read carefully the first verse of this chapter under study). Do not forget the young slave girl, a true ambassador of the GOD of the Jews. The simple instruction that came out of GOD’S servant, Elisha; and now this Gehazi that was expected to be a servant of GOD like his master, but became a leper for life because he collected something.  Quickly take in this warning - do not misuse your position in that office, school or business environment. Do not function wrongly in your house and among your people. Keep the faith in Christ!
Gehazi was surprised that his Godly master would not take a thing from the many glittering things that the wonderful warrior brought as gifts for his healer. (Salvation is free, isn’t it?). Gehazi cheaply fell for the lust of the eye, and he subsequently used lie and his connection with the Servant of GOD to dupe the unsuspecting new convert – Naaman the changed leper.
Please know that there is no secret under the sun; the eye of the LORD covers all. GOD’s heart goes with you everywhere and HE can discern the thought of your heart every moment. HE wants you to depend on HIM for all things and in every way. You may have great needs; GOD shall also greatly supply your needs according to HIS riches in glory through Jesus Christ (when you faithfully seek, serve and service HIM righteously).
Beloved of GOD, let us plead with friends, loved ones and children not to take gifts unrighteously. Resist the pressures from within or from ungodly friends to engage in unrighteous relationship for greedy gains. Do not take that something that you cannot openly declare before Godly people. God bless you!
