THE VERY SPECIAL REQUESTS – EPHESIANS 4:1 - 16
I then, the prisoner in the Lord, make this request from my heart, that you will see that your behaviour is a credit to the position which God's purpose has given you, (v.1 BBE)
No matter how the atmosphere looks this time, I pray that your moments and day will not lack the divine moisture for calmness, ease, joy and peace. May you be on top of every situation; may you be blessed and you become a blessing to others, in Jesus name.
Apostle Paul, the acclaimed writer of this letter, had gone through a lot of things in life (both pleasant and unpleasant). He would not live or lead others just as he wishes; he would rather obey the teachings of Christ. And from what he had been through, and had seen worked from experience, he made this special appeal to the brethren in the Ephesian Church. You do need to read this portion in the Holy Scriptures well and pray that you have good understanding and great grace to be fulfilled in it.
This special request has to do with your behavior to the word of GOD and HIS Spirit; your behavior to all around you (even when they “show you different colours” in their behavior to you); your behavior to the Church and what is expected of you as GOD’s child.
Let your behavior to all these be a “credit” and nothing less. Let your behavior be a plus (positive) and no other. Let your behavior be of worthy asset and not anything in the opposite. There are several things to learn of Christ, and His Spirit is ever willing to help and see that we behave rightly in all situations to please GOD and not just to make peace or please others. I do not know what the enemy lay on your path this time, but I know that by the Spirit of GOD you shall not be trapped in any evil or iniquity; you shall overcome every stormy situation victoriously.
As you face the different tasks and challenges this season, do not forget to put up true love with others; do not forget to relate rightly with the Spirit of GOD and of HIS Christ; do not forget the gift and the call of GOD on you. Do not forget the faith and the baptism. Do not allow yourself to be tossed around like children without understanding of what the will of their father is. This special request is that you do not fail GOD, but disappoint the enemy.
